b. Whose responsibility is it if in the street, UMT or PennDOT? Depends on the location. Contact UMT’s Public Works Department at 610-265-2606.
c. What is considered the end of a residential property and the beginning of the street? Is it: Pavement? Curb? Island, etc.? All of the items listed.

The homeowner is responsible for the sewer pipes in the house and from the house to the street curb.
b. If you are experiencing a sanitary sewer backup from a drain or sewer leaving the home, you should contact UMT’s Public Works Department- Collections System before calling a Plumber at 610-265-2606, Monday thru Thursday, 7:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 610-265-3232 on Fridays, Weekends and Holidays. A crew is on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle emergencies.
The Township is responsible for the sanitary sewer from the curb to the sewer main in the street.

c. If I (resident/vendor/client) am affected by a flood, who do I contact? For Emergencies call: 9-1-1.

It is the residents responsibility to contract with their local trash service. UMT does not provide trash pick-up service.
Highway Division will determine who the responsible agency is. Contact UMT’s Public Works Department- Highway Division at 610-279-9025 or submit the appropriate form under *“Traffic Operations” on UMT’s website.
