There are 20 commissions, boards and authorities currently serving Upper Merion Township. They are staffed by appointed citizens who assist in Township government by advising, informing and assisting the Board of Supervisors. These citizen volunteers provide a valuable service to the Township.

Development Committee

Environmental Advisory Council
Reviews all environmental laws and reports findings to the Board of Supervisors. Holds public meetings to collect information and public input on current environmental issues.

Library Board of Directors
Plans, conducts and maintains a free, public, non-sectarian library for the use of the residents of the Township.

Advisory Board

Assists in promoting and developing all media communications options in Upper Merion and advises the Board of Supervisors on the operation of cable communication technology within the Township.

Planning Commission
Sees that existing land is used in the best interest of the Township, as well as the landowner. Conducts studies that will impact the Township in the years to come, examines subdivison and land development plans.

Police Citizen Advisory Board

Shade Tree and
Beautification Commission

Reviews landscape plans when appropriate for developer compliance to existing codes and ordinances and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. To help promote pride in keeping the community attractive, presents beautification awards annually to residents who have improved their properties. On an ongoing basis, committed to beautifying roadways and parks within the township.
