Economic & Community Development Committee (ECDC)
The purpose of the Economic and Community Development Committee (ECDC) is to examine the short-term and long-term economic and community development needs of the township. It recommends to the Board of Supervisors strategies and projects that will provide sound economic development and a stronger sense of community to the township. It also encourages communication between the township and businesses located in the township regarding economic and community development issues.
The ECDC also examines the current state and local tax structure on Upper Merion residents and recommends changes to the Board of Supervisors that will benefit the residents. The committee strives to develop working relationships with state and federal agencies that can provide economic and community development resources to the township.

The ECDC is currently reviewing opportunities to develop a working relationship with the King of Prussia Business Improvement District (BID)
to promote Upper Merion Township as a great place to live and work. The committee is also currently exploring options for a new community center with the Parks and Recreation Board. Lastly, the committee is forming a joint venture with the Environmental Action Council (EAC) to explore ways to introduce energy savings options to the business and the residential community.
The ECDC is also administering a new campaign to support local businesses and engage residents. The Love My Local
campaign asks local business owners, "what do residents love about your business". It also asks residents, "what do you love about living in Upper Merion". Follow this link
