2009 Goals and Objectives

1. Explore means of enhancing the township-wide wireless communication system.
   > Action Steps:
   a.  ) Enhance current Police WiFi thus providing full-time connectivity.
   b.  Allow for video streaming for traffic, parks, school district, mall & private business security.
   c.  Connectivity to/for Police, Fire, EMS, Twp Depts, e.g. highway, sewer, codes enforcement & Park-Rec.
2. Formulate a new township-wide approach to Special Event Permits ensuring a more comprehensive examination of possible hazards and liability issues.
3. Continue to improve the department's capabilities regarding response to critical incidents/homeland security issues.
   > Action Steps:
   a.  Referesh listing of all critical assets/locations in the Township.
   b.  Determine need for and level of site specific plans for each asset; special focus on emergency response to township wide schools.
   c.  Continue to train on and utilize Incident Command System protocols. Possible use of new Montgomery County ICS Immersion Center.
   d.  Stay abreast of developments in regard to the Avian Flu health issue.
