Residential Sewer Bills IMPORTANT NOTICE - SEWER BILLS NOW TWICE A YEAR A new semi-annual billing system for residential sewer collections will be implemented on January 1, 2010. This new system will replace the current system of quarterly billing. Once the semi-annual system has gone into effect, the billing schedule will be as follows:
Please note that 2009's 4th quarter bill (service dates October 1, 2009- December 31, 2009) will be the last of the quarterly system. This remaining bill will be received in January 2010 and will be due by January 31, 2010. Finally, current rates will remain in effect with the semi-annual system. For example, if you currently pay $42.00 per quarter, your bill will be $84.00 for a half year. If your rate is $52.00 currently; it will now be $104.00 for a half year. Sewer billing rates for residential properties purchased prior to January 1, 2006 are: $42.00 per quarter for residences without a garbage disposal unit, or $52.00 per quarter for residences with a garbage disposal, as set forth in Ordinance No.2005-751. The Sewer Revenue Department must be contacted prior to installing or removing any garbage disposal unit. Effective January 1, 2006, any residential property transferred in accordance with the Upper Merion Township Code, Section 130, Real Estate Registry, Ordinance No. 90-571, will be reclassified to the residential flat rate of $52.00 per quarter.
