Township Sewer Fees

On February 3, 2005, the Board of Supervisors passed Ordinance No. 2005-743 amending Ordinance No. 94-618 and Ordinance No. 2004-731, Upper Merion Township's sewer rate ordinances, Sections 133-24, 133-25 and 133-32, changing the rates charged for the usage of the sewer system.

On December 8, 2005, the Board of Supervisors passed Ordinance No. 2005-751 which again amended the residential flat rate for use of the sewer system.

Residential Sewer Bills are billed quarterly:

1st quarter (covering January-March) is billed April 30;

2nd quarter (April-June) is billed July 30th;

3rd quarter (July-September) is billed October 30th; and

4th quarter (October-December) is billed January 30th.

For residential properties purchased prior to January 1, 2006, sewer billing rates are: $42.00 per quarter for residences without a garbage disposal unit, or $52.00 per quarter for residences with a garbage disposal, as set forth in Ordinance No.2005-751. The Sewer Revenue Department must be contacted prior to installing or removing any garbage disposal unit.

Effective January 1, 2006, any residential property transferred in accordance with the Upper Merion Township Code, Section 130, Real Estate Registry, Ordinance No. 90-571, will be reclassified to the residential flat rate of $52.00 per quarter.

Commercial Sewer Bills for business establishments are billed according to the provisions of Ordinance No.2004-731.

As a service to our growing business community, to ensure correct and proper sewer billing, the township's quarterly sewer questionnaire is available on-line below. Businesses are required to furnish this information quarterly to accurately calculate sewer charges.
