Department Upper Merion Township has successfully obtained a series of grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to promote an active and on-going recycling effort. Our compost site tub grinder, street sweeper and litter vacuum are acquisitions obtained with these grants. Recently, the Township has acquired a yard waste collection truck. Its primary function is to assist with collection of sticks, shrub clippings and limbs during scheduled Spring and Fall clean-up and after severe wind or ice storms. Upper Merion Township conducts two Yard Waste Collection Programs each year. The Spring Program will include collection through the month of April. The Fall Program will follow during the month of September.
Yard waste will be collected on Thursdays and Fridays, weather permitting. Collections which are delayed will be conducted on Mondays and Tuesdays of the following week. YARD WASTE WILL NOT BE PICKED UP. The Public Works Department grinds the collected yard waste and stockpiles the mulch. Free mulch and leaf compost is available to residents at the compost site on Beidler Road. Residents should comply with the following guidelines:
Please note that this service does not include grass clippings. Nor does it include contracted services or materials cut by contracted services.
