The Upper Merion Township Library’s Summer Reading Program is open to children entering Kindergarten – Adults! There are great prizes, programs and more happening at the library this summer! Can’t make it to us – sign up and record your progress online.

Do you have a child not yet ready for Kindergarten? Sign up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten by stopping by the Children’s Department. Don’t leave them out of all the fun books have to offer!
- Children entering Kindergarten – 8th grade – record the amount of time you’ve read throughout the summer.
- Teens & Adults – record titles you’ve read to enter prize drawings throughout the summer
The library has events all summer long for children, teens, adults and families. Check out our event calendar for an up-to-date list of all the great things happening at the library this summer! Are your kids spending some time at Adventure Day Camp or Extended Day Summer Camp? We’ll be visiting with great books and fun crafts and games.

Kid Zone – Summer Reading Info Just for Kids!
Join the Summer Reading Club and you are eligible to earn a medal simply for reading during the summer. To register, stop by the library or register online at: https://umtownship.beanstack.org. Keep track of the amount of time you read on the reading record you receive at registration or record your reading online.
- Bronze Medal: read for 5 hours
- Silver Medal: read for 10 hours
- Gold Medal: read for 15 hours
Don’t stop with a gold medal! We have other prizes for club members who keep reading! You could earn stickers, coupons for free food at local restaurants, toys and many more prizes!
Club members MUST report the amount of time spent reading to the children’s department by visiting or recording online the last Friday of August to earn their medal and other prizes. Medals will be awarded at a special ceremony held in the Spring of 2018.
Middle School Monday Nights
This is a half hour long book discussion group for club members entering 5th through 8th grade. You receive a choice of books to read each week. Registration is not required.
Test your knowledge of books every Monday night at the library in our Library Jeopardy game. Played just like the game show on television, club members, entering grades 5th though 8th, compete every week for points. The top three scorers at the end of the summer move on to Final Jeopardy to determine the Library Jeopardy Champion.
The Junior Friends of the Library meet directly after Library Jeopardy in the summer and help with service projects around the library!
This is an hour long book discussion group for club members entering 5th through 8th grade. You bring your lunch and the library provides the drinks and snacks. Join us for discussion, trivia and prizes. Registration is required because space is limited. Sign up at the library.

Science in the Summer
The GlaxoSmith Kline & Franklin Institute Science in the Summer program is a free science education program that helps elementary school children in the greater Philadelphia area “grow into science” and gets kids excited about studying science with hands-on experiments.
The course is taught by a certified teacher to groups of 16 students in two age groups: children who have completed Grades 2 or 3 (Level I) and for children who have completed Grades 4, 5, or 6 (Level II).
