Register for Summer Reading
Summer Reading 2021
The 2021 Summer Reading Program – Tails & Tales is right around the corner! And although we still have a number of safety precautions to adhere to, we’re excited to present a really great program this year. We’ve learned a lot over the past year and this year’s program definitely reflects that. At the heart of the summer reading program is reading. And there are plenty of ways to do that this summer, stop by the library to pick out some great titles or borrow books online from OverDrive and Hoopla! The library’s hours right now are Monday – Wednesday from 10am – 8pm and Thursday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm.
Our programming is still limited, but with a mixture of take-home, grab-and-go activities, live virtual programs, and just a few in-person outdoor programs, we’ve got a little something for everyone. All of the events the library has planned for this year can be found on the Library’s event calendar in the next few weeks. Please read all the information carefully as the event description will tell you exactly how the program is presented and if there are any specific instructions you’ll need to know.
Don’t forget Summer Reading isn’t just for grade school – we have a program for teens and adults too! Check below for some more information!
For Kids from Birth – Preschool
Although we don’t offer a specific Summer Reading program for PreK children, we do offer a year-round program called 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten encourages families to read 1,000 books together before their child reaches Kindergarten (and yes, you can do it)! This program paired with our storytimes and other classes for PreK children combines social interaction with early literacy skills preparing young children for school in fun and inviting atmospheres both at home and at the library! Learn more about 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, register for the program, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
