By Laura Arnhold, Director of the Upper Merion Township Library
I still have my first library card, it’s well-worn and well-loved and my mom wrote my name on it because I was too little to do it myself. Signing up for a library card opened up new worlds for me – fantastical places, historical settings and characters that are still some of my closest childhood friends, all in books that hold a special place in my heart.
Now it’s your turn! At Upper Merion Township Library there is no age requirement to get a library card. Whether you’re signing up your three-month-old, you haven’t visited a library in 30 years, or you’re 103, we’d love to show you what the library has to offer. Our website includes detailed instructions on how to get, replace, and renew your library card. It also includes the acceptable forms of ID required as part of the library card application process.
We’re excited to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month this September and hope to see you at the library!
