Upper Merion Township Library’s Workshops and Seminars
The library has two upcoming health and wellness events. The first is the Balanced Plate Workshop for Adults on Monday, August 12 from 7:00 to 8:30PM in the Valley Forge Room. This workshop is presented by Anu Tharmaraj, a certified health and wellness coach and TCM coach. In this workshop, participants will learn the definition of health, the reasons blood sugar goes out of control, the challenges we face, solutions for balancing blood sugar with food in every meal, and three strategies for changing and implementing new habits. To register, visit the library’s website. The library is also hosting an Emotional and Physical Balance Seminar on Wednesday, September 11 from 7:00 to 8:15PM in the Valley Forge Room. This seminar is presented by Kathryn Landis, MSW and energy medicine practitioner, who has 20+ years of experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. In this seminar, participants will become aware of the energetic make-up of the human body, which is known as the aura or the human energy field. They will learn how to use it to create physical and emotional balance in their lives. Additionally, participants will learn techniques that strengthen and enhance their energy fields. There will also be a visual demonstration in which the movement of energy can be seen via various portals that are located throughout the body. To register for this seminar, visit the library’s website.
Upper Merion Township Pool
August is the final month of the outdoor pool season and we’re celebrating with discounted pool membership rates! Swimming is one of the best activities you can do for your health. The pool has a designated long-course lane set aside every day for lap swimming only. This is available for pool members only and is monitored by lifeguards. Aquacize is also offered for adults 18 and older on Monday and Thursday nights until August 22. This is another fantastic way to enjoy the pool while getting a workout in.
