The Rambler is here to make getting around Upper Merion easier and more convenient for everyone! Whether you’re heading to the mall, a medical appointment, the Senior Center, or the Township Building, the Rambler is your go-to mode of transportation. Designed with accessibility in mind, all Rambler buses are wheelchair accessible, and each driver is certified to safely operate the lift mechanism for passengers with mobility challenges.
New Schedule & Routes
The Rambler now operates two routes—the Blue Line and the Green Line—from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Both routes run east to west, providing easy access across Upper Merion. No matter where you need to go, we’ve got you covered. You can check out the Rambler Brochure to learn more about the specific stops along each route.
Fares and Discounts
- The base fare for a one-way trip is $2. If you’re a frequent rider, you can save by purchasing a 10-trip ticket for $10.
- Students ages 7-17 can ride for just $0.50.
- Children under 7 ride free when accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
- Seniors (age 65 and older) can enjoy free rides at all times on the Rambler and other SEPTA transit services, including buses, trolleys, subways, and the Norristown High-Speed Line.
Seniors who don’t yet have a Senior Transit ID can easily obtain one by making an appointment with either State Senator Amanda M. Cappelletti or State Representative Tim Briggs. Both offices offer free Senior Transit IDs and are ready to help you get set up.
Safety First!
For the safety of all passengers, the Rambler requires wheelchair passengers to wear a lap belt during the ride. This safety measure is mandated by the service provider to ensure everyone’s well-being while on board. Please note that the Rambler will be unable to service passengers who refuse to wear the lap belt.
