*Please Note: the smoke alarm blitz is postponed. Stay tuned for more info*
With the great success of our 2019 smoke alarm blitzes,
we’re excited to announce our first blitz of 2020!
On Saturday, April 18, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM,
we will host our first event in the King of Prussia section of the township.
Every day, seven people die in home fires, most often because of faulty or missing smoke alarms. We’re aiming to change that by canvassing neighborhoods to install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms, and educate families about fire prevention.
King of Prussia residents will receive a door hanger the week before the event with more information and to let you know the volunteers will be in the area on April 18. You do not have to take any other action. If you are not available on that date but still want to participate, or if you have any questions about special needs alarms or anything else related to smoke alarms, a special hotline has been set up for questions: 484-636-3945.
If you’d like more information, contact Bill Daywalt, Deputy Fire Marshal, at 610-205-8554 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
