Upper Merion Township is fortunate to be served by a combination fire department that includes career firefighters, as well as three volunteer fire companies: the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company, the Swedeland Volunteer Fire Company, and the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company. The township also has a fully operational Emergency Medical Services division.
To maintain an effective response capability to natural and man-made emergencies through planning and efficient use of human resources and equipment.
The Fire and Rescue Services Division train on a regular basis to keep their skills up to date. If you see them training in your neighborhood, walk over and take a look at some of the tools and equipment used by the firefighters.
