The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that beam repairs are scheduled on the Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) bridge over Matsonford Road in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, February 27, through late March, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Matsonford Road between Hillside Avenue and Rebel Hill Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Built in 1950, the I-76 one-span stringer bridge is 90 feet wide and carries approximately 76,216 vehicles per day.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
