The Code Enforcement Department consists of the Director, Building Officials, Permits Officials and Permits Clerks. The department is responsible for ensuring projects adhere to township regulations. It is divided into four main categories. These include:

Permits
The office processes and issues all construction and use-related permits

Building/Zoning Regulations
This division ensures compliance with the applicable standards, adopted by the Board of Supervisors, which provide a reasonable degree of protection to the health, safety, and welfare of our citizens and visitors

Effective July 15, 2022, Upper Merion Township approved Ordinance 2022-881 to amend the Upper Merion Township Code, Chapter 69,  “Construction Codes, Uniform”, to adopt the 2018 International Building Code. View a copy of the ordinance.

Property Maintenance
This divisions oversees proper maintenance of properties within Upper Merion Township

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:15AM-5:00PM

THE PERMITS DESK IS OPEN FROM 8:15AM to 5:00PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

We are located on the Lower Level near the Back Entrance. Permit Fees are due at the time of permit application submission.

Inspections are being conducted by our Building Officials with a requested 24 hour notice prior to the inspection day.

Please contact the Building Official directly to schedule your inspection. The Building Official name, email and phone are indicated on the bottom of your Issued Permit.
