The Code Enforcement Department consists of the Director, various inspectors, plumbing/building and maintenance officers, and supporting staff. The department is responsible for ensuring projects adhere to township regulations. It is divided into four main categories. These include:

Temporary Use Permit Changes
Permits
The office processes and issues all construction and use-related permits
Building/Zoning Regulations
This division ensures compliance with the applicable standards, adopted by the Board of Supervisors, which provide a reasonable degree of protection to the health, safety, and welfare of our citizens and visitors
Effective October 1, 2018, Upper Merion Township approved Ordinance 2018-856 to amend the Upper Merion Township Code, Chapter 69, “Construction Codes, Uniform”, to adopt provisions of the 2015 International Building Code. View a copy of the ordinance.
